JOB SUMMARY

Promotes and sells Wilsonart products and marketing programs primarily to buying customers made up largely of National / Regional Home Centers and their fabricator/contractor partners.  Primary focus is on growing business at home centers for all Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces.  Growth target areas include Stock Tops, Stock Sheets, Special Order Sales, Online sales and Pro-department sales.  Performs other tasks as required.

This position will cover a territory primarily in the Upper Midwest and Southeastern United States.  The candidate must live within the territory with easy access to a major airport.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops relationships with customers and serves as the primary contact for the Home Center channel throughout North America.
  • Increases the business volume by driving product demand for Wilsonart products at the Merchant and VP level within the key retail chain accounts.
  • Works with Home Centers on developing a balanced design palette to drive sales success (Merchants & In-House Design Teams)
  • Establishes annual business plan in coordination with Merchants & Wilsonart management
  • Develops & executes programs designed to educate, train and motivate store personnel to sell Wilsonart products
  • Identifies and engages key fabrication sources (cabinet & top shops) and closes sales loops that exist between Home Centers & their fabricator base
  • Interacts with the key Postform accounts that service the Stock Top business, with an eye towards both securing and growing our share of the total stock top volumes.
  • Works with Home Center Sales Coordinator and Management on annual programming and budgeting
  • Works with Regional Managers, Metro Managers and Independent Distribution personnel across the U.S. to maximize sales results and keep field sales informed on Home Center program and program updates/changes.
  • Provides feedback to internal customers (e.g. – Design, Manufacturing & Marketing departments) regarding the service & surfacing needs of the Home Center channel.
  • Participates in industry related supplier events, associations & trade shows.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of the complete product line and its marketing performance, particularly as related to the Home Center channel.
  • Experience with marketing, sales and specification principles.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint.
  • Previous Home Center experience desired.
  • Ability to communicate well in oral and written formats with all levels of our organization and our customer’s.
  • Ability to sell products and concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to make professional public presentations.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree Required or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1yr experience may substitute for 1yr of degree.

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting in the same location of standing/walking; required to stoop, climb or lift light material (10-20lbs) or equipment.

ENVIRONMENT: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Examples: executive, management and support positions
