Weston Solutions is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator who can manage the bidding process for small to large scale lump sum and design-build commercial construction projects.
Locations: Remote
Major Responsibilities:
- Review bid opportunities, analyze project documents, drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, engineering reports, and other information included in the bid package to provide accurate, market-competitive cost estimates.
- Manage the bidding process for small to large scale lump sum, and design-build projects.
- Source and vet subcontractors, cultivate subcontractor & vendor relationships, and perform bid leveling across multiple trade partners.
- Ability to professionally analyze the drawings and solicitation package, extract the scope of works for each trade and communicate that with the subcontractors.
- Negotiate project pricing and schedule with subcontractors.
- Create and compile detailed, accurate cost estimates and present them to the management for approval.
- Experience working on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes of work.
- Technical background with an understanding of building, engineering, and commercial projects.
- Obtain, organize, and analyze multiple subcontractor quotes across varying trades by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing.
- Develop processes and track historical cost/scope to build a database for future projects.
- Lead, manage, train, and develop future incoming or cross-team estimating personnel.
- Host job walks and attend site visits, if necessary.
- Support continued development of subcontractor database.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Expert analytical skills; experience in producing estimating for complex, multi-trade, renovation, facility maintenance, and new construction.
- Extensive knowledge of the construction industry means, methods, costs, processes & generally accepted business practices.
- Strong and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proven positive attitude and professionalism. Excellent customer-oriented focus with the ability to build and maintain business relationships with clients and subcontractors nationwide.
- Excellent organizational & time management skills. Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and monitor the bidding process to meet hard deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple bids concurrently.
- Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to guide stakeholders through complex problems.
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and bid management programs.
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience required in estimating commercial projects.
- Bachelor’s degree/higher education in engineering is preferred but not required.
- Experience in estimating or managing JOC projects is a plus.
- Professional certifications (such as Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
Salary Range: $96,500 - $128,900 - $161,000
