Description

We are hiring a Project Engineer to provide support for engineering activities for a wide variety of technically challenging projects, not limited to environmental investigation, site investigation, , permitting, remedial design, water and wastewater design, and construction. This position will require strong analytical, problem solving, and technical writing skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team.      

Location: Mundelein, IL

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, EIT required, PE desired
  • 5-10 years related experience
  • Able to work on a variety of engineering teams (including remediation, site investigation, and water/wastewater design)
  • Able to analyze, interpret and present data and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Able to carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective technical writing skills to assist with report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with colleagues, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Effective organizational skills to maintain deliverables, analytical results, and field notes in project files.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of health and safety practices
  • Able to work effectively in group settings.  
  • Valid driver’s license

Desired, but not mandatory, qualifications include:  

  • PE certification
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory processes and reporting  
  • Knowledge in the use of CAD programs including Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Responsibilities: 
  • Work as a team leader for engineering activities to facilitate completion of scope within required schedule
  • Work independently within a project team
  • Perform various engineering related calculations and analyses of information in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects.
  • Complete and/or review design documents including reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Perform quality control (QC) checks.
  • Perform field assignments including resident engineering, construction observation, site inspections, and conducting field assessment of properties.
  • Prepare daily QC reports, maintain field notes and photo documentation, as required.
  • This position is a field and office position
