Project Financial Coordinator

We are looking for a Project Financial Coordinator in our Edison, NJ office.  This role provides project financial support to Project Managers including project opening, maintenance and invoicing and/or cost and/or project status tracking utilizing WESTON's project accounting system as well as specialized project software.

  1. Assist Project Managers with project/contract management and administration. May include the following:

    • Initiation and modification of system project set-up to ensure timely and accurate tracking of project status, costs and resource utilization,

    • Development of cost/schedule control tools to guide project team to a timely and profitable outcome.

    • Review, analysis and reporting related to sales, contracts, work-in-process, current project status and performance, earned revenue reports, variance reports, suspense reports and all project-related correspondence

    • Track project budget and status and provide appropriate reports to project leadership.

    • Perform project invoicing for assigned group of Locations/org units/Project Managers in adherence with defined schedule.

    • Track project closeouts, zero budgets and prepare report, updating status for the later.

  2. Develop and maintain accurate records, reports, analyses and schedules required by the project team for tracking, evaluating, analyzing, auditing, and/or billing, related to project performance, schedule, resource allocation and /or financial performance.

  3.  Research and resolve discrepancies related to project-level accounting activities.Work closely with project managers to resolve accounting issues related to their projects.  May include the following: budgeting new positions, pricing proposals, rebudgeting existing positions, preparing manpower schedules, and review monthly revenue claims, questionable charges on projects.

  4. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports in adherence to defined schedule.

  5. Perform monthly reconciliation/verification of work to ensure accuracy, as well as identification and correction of errors and/or inconsistencies.

  6. Assist other team members, as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus 0-2 years related experience

Aptitude for numbers and strong analytical ability, detail-oriented

Understanding of GAAP

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Basic computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)

Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
