Weston has an exciting career opportunity for a Federal Project Manager to support our rapidly growing Munitions Response & Range Services business line and current project backlog. Weston holds more than $1 billion worth of Department of Defense contract capacity for military munitions response services with United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Baltimore, Omaha, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Albuquerque District’s, US Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville and other agencies.
As a leader in the munitions response industry, Weston maintains a diverse self-perform capability and technological mindset. The successful candidate will immediately engage in a wide range of high-profile projects involving advanced geophysical classification (AGC), munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) and munitions constituents (MC), operational range sustainment and assessment, underwater and aerial surveys, small arms ranges and other environmental services. The applicant will have demonstrated experience managing, implementing, and contributing to Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) Remedial Investigation and Remedial Action projects, assembling and leading project teams and mentoring junior staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, geophysics or other environmental science related degree from an accredited university.
- Six (6) or more years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency delivering MMRP and environmental projects of moderate to significant size, scope and complexity.
- Lead and support proposals assisted by subject matter experts.
- Proficiency delivering overall management and administration to assigned projects by establishing clear scope, schedules and budgets.
- Hold profit/loss responsibility for assigned projects.
- Understanding of CERCLA, RCRA and other regulatory programs.
- Knowledge of Engineering Manual (EM) 385-1-1, EM 200-1-15, MR-QAPP modules and associated guidance and regulation.
- Commitment to performing work safely and of the highest quality.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Professional Geologist (P.G.), Project Management Professional (PMP) or other like registration is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with Department of Defense clients, in particular USACE, under firm fixed price performance-based acquisition task orders.
- Management of projects involving AGC.
- Experience with the Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) program.
Responsibilities in Leading:
- Serves as the primary point of contact and builds connections with major stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Develops an understanding of stakeholder organizations to ensure successful partnering.
- Engages several stakeholders in development of project quality pledge.
- Identifies team and individual strengths in order to fulfill project goals and develop new leaders.
- Resolves stakeholder and team conflicts with support from other managers.
- Proposal estimating and technical response for task order proposals.
- Client engagement and identification of follow on opportunities.
- Leads efforts to drive project underruns, identify project risk and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities in Managing:
- Manages project teams by clearly communicating expectations for project requirements, scope, schedule and budget. Clearly communicates changes or issues up to management in a timely manner.
- Generally manages projects that are moderate in scope with multiple subcontractors and internal team members.
- Identifies project management talent on projects and encourages their development and empowerment.
- Enables team members to be successful through effective communication of goals and reinforcing goal achievement.
- Communicates with and aligns team with scope of work.
- Management and communication of project changes with the client and the project team.
- Consistently meets planned project profitability and metrics (NIBT, profit margins, DSO, etc.) on routine projects with relatively few risks.
- Uses project support team capabilities when needed.
- Manages quality and health and safety.
- Strong change management and scope control.
- Manages project to execute within approved budgets.
Responsibilities in Contributing:
- Assists with proposal efforts, including costing and profitability planning.
- Able to understand and articulate project scope based upon RFP and/or contract.
- Proactive identification of project issues and development of options for corrective action.
- Timely and accurate submittal of invoices. Monitoring and reporting of the status of accounts receivable and recommends appropriate action on overdue accounts.
- Compliance with Weston purchasing and subcontracting requirements.
- Procures additional follow-on work of similar type from stakeholders.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
Salary Range: $85,895-$113,570-$141,143
