Description

Weston is hiring a Communication Specialist with physical or biological science experience to support our client, NOAA, in their Technology, Planning and Integration for Observation division (TPIO) in the Washington DC area. The TPIO needs a communications consultant to support and assist with the following tasks:

  • Support TPIO strategic communication initiatives that serve to build and have continued learning of cross-NOAA understanding of TPIO’s roles and capabilities.
  • Support webpage development and maintenance.
  • Develop tailored communication products, analysis tools, datasets, papers, and briefings for a variety of users and stakeholders.
  • Prepare materials for workshops, conferences, and other external forums.
  • Develop data visualization and infographic materials.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, management, and other technological resources within the organization.
  • Manage a team of six employees helping to execute these tasks.

Location: Washington, D.C. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Graduate (Masters) degree from an accredited college or university which provides substantial knowledge in communications with some physical or biological science background.
  • Minimum of 8 years of substantial and progressive experience demonstrating proficiency in communications, data visualization, and website content design and presentation as related to physical or biological sciences.
