Weston Solutions has an opening for a Buyer located at our headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The Buyer is responsible for conducting federal and non-federal contract purchasing activities, as well as non-contract procurement, for commodities and services of moderate complexity. This role supports project and operational teams by ensuring procurement actions are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with established corporate policies and applicable client contract requirements.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Prepare requests for proposals and requests for quotation to conduct market surveys for materials and services of moderate complexity in support of contract and non-contract requirements.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and proposals to determine the lowest overall cost solution while meeting quality, delivery, and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with requisitioners and end users to clarify procurement requirements and provide feedback on material and service technology developments or improvements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to reduce overall costs, minimize administrative burden, and ensure all contractual terms and conditions are appropriately addressed.
  • Prepare clear, accurate purchase documents within the automated purchasing system and proactively expedite supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of all contractual requirements.
  • Evaluate commodities and services within assigned scope and recommend consolidation or leveraging opportunities to support company-wide cost reduction initiatives.
  • Interface with Project Managers and assigned divisions to resolve procurement-related issues, escalating complex matters to functional management as appropriate.
  • Provide one-on-one training to regional or divisional personnel on basic purchasing skills and procurement processes.
  • Deliver timely status updates and feedback to functional management on procurement issues, cost savings initiatives, and performance within the Buyer’s control.
  • Participate in material costing efforts to support Weston proposal development activities as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 0–3 years of related professional experience.
  • General purchasing experience required.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to balance cost, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Federal procurement experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and resolve issues effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and process execution.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $45,374 - $59,489 - $73,499
