Description

We are hiring a Remediation Project Manager that will lead projects with increasing complexity, a scope that is likely to change and many stakeholders with conflicting interests. The stakeholders typically include the client, the Weston project team, Weston Senior Management and subcontractors. The Project Manager assembles the project team, and manages the project scope, schedule and budget to ensure Weston’s commitments and financial goals are met. The Project Manager engages stakeholders to build trust, and aligns stakeholder expectations and relationships. The Project Manager leads PM development discussions at the local level, participates in the broader PM community across Weston and is often be a subject matter expert in a particular area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or geology or environmental related degree from an accredited university.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in the field of remedial consulting including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and vapor intrusion.
  • Five (5) or more years of project management experience on remedial consulting projects.
  • Knowledge of state and Federal regulations and ability to interface with regulatory agencies.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, LSRP, or other like registration is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams with projects of moderate to advanced scope and complexity.
  • Promotes an environment where Weston team members establish relationships and build trust with their clients and stakeholder counterparts.
  • Ability to excel at managing scope, schedule and budget.
  • Able to leverage team’s relationships with stakeholders to actively listen throughout the project and determine where Weston can provide value.
  • Proven track record of creating a positive environment where team members actively create high quality connections among each other.
  • Can anticipate the potential for changing conditions, and collaborates as needed.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Professional Geologist (P.G.), LSRP, or other like registration is preferred.
  • Experience working in New York, including NYC, and New Jersey.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and effectively implements a stakeholder engagement plan to build trust at all levels.
  • Understands and leverages mechanics of stakeholder organizations.
  • Engages all stakeholders in development of project quality pledge.
  • Identifies team and individual strengths in order to fulfill project goals and develop new leaders.
  • Resolves stakeholder and team conflicts and reestablish a collaborative work environment.
  • Manages project teams by clearly communicating expectations for project requirements, scope, schedule and budget.
  • Manages projects that are large and complex in scope with multiple subcontractors and internal team members.
  • Identifies project management talent on projects and encourages their development and empowerment.
  • Sets a common vision and enable team members to be successful and able to identify their goals and individual contributions to a project.
  • Communicates with and aligns team beyond scope of work to maximize outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Management and communication of project changes with the client and the project team.
  • Consistently meets or out-performs planned project profitability and metrics (NIBT, profit margins, DSO, etc.) on projects with moderate risk.
  • Establishes high quality connections with project support specialists and actively collaborates with them.
  • Manages quality and H&S to achieve zero accidents and ensure quality goals are met.
  • Identifies stakeholders during the proposal stage and engages them early and often upon award to build trusted connections.
  • Identifies value-creation opportunities during bid and/or early project phase.
  • Assists with proposal efforts, including costing and profitability planning.
  • Able to understand and articulate project scope based upon RFP and/or contract.
  • Proactive identification of project issues and development of options for corrective action.
  • Timely and accurate submittal of invoices. Monitoring and reporting of the status of accounts receivable and recommends appropriate action on overdue accounts.
  • Compliance with WESTON purchasing and subcontracting requirements.
  • Procures additional follow-on work of varying types from stakeholders.
