Description

Weston is hiring Remediation Project Manager/ Senior Project Geologist in the LA Area who will lead projects with increasing complexity, a scope that is likely to change and many stakeholders with conflicting interests. The stakeholders typically include the client, the Weston project team, Weston Senior Management and subcontractors. The ideal candidate would assemble the project team, and manage the project scope, schedule and budget to ensure Weston’s commitments and financial goals are met. The candidate would engage stakeholders to build trust, and aligns stakeholder expectations and relationships. The candidate would also lead PM development discussions at the local level, participates in the broader PM community across Weston and is a subject matter expert in Geology/Hydrogeology.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology from an accredited university.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in the field of remedial consulting including soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and vapor intrusion.
  • Five (5) or more years of project management experience on remedial consulting projects.
  • Knowledge of state and Federal regulations and ability to interface with regulatory agencies.
  • A California Registered Geologist (PG) license is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams with projects of moderate to advanced technical scope and complexity.
  • Promotes an environment where Weston team members establish relationships and build trust with their clients and stakeholder counterparts.
  • Ability to excel at managing scope, schedule and budget.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage project teams by clearly communicating expectations for project requirements, scope, schedule and budget.
  • Manage projects that are large and complex in scope with multiple subcontractors and internal team members.
  • Identify project management talent on projects and encourage their development and empowerment.
  • Provide strong technical leadership for the team.
  • Set a common vision and enable technical team members to be successful and able to identify their goals and individual contributions to a project.
  • Ability to identify and recruit appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to participate with the team.
  • Communicate with and align team beyond scope of work to maximize outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Management and communication of project changes with the client and the project team.
  • Consistently meet or out-perform planned project profitability and metrics (NIBT, profit margins, DSO, etc.) on projects with moderate risk.
  • Manage the quality and H&S programs effectively to achieve zero accidents and ensure that quality goals are met.
  • Assist with proposal efforts, including costing and profitability planning
  • Ability to understand and articulate project scope based upon RFP and/or contract.
  • Proactively identify project issues and development of options for corrective action.
  • Timely and accurate submittal of invoices. Monitoring and reporting of the status of accounts receivable and recommends appropriate action on overdue accounts.
  • Compliance with WESTON purchasing and subcontracting requirements.
  • Procure additional follow-on work of varying types from clients/stakeholders.
