Engineering Associate 3

The Engineering Associate will provide a support role for environmental investigation, site investigation, regulatory interpretation, permitting, remedial design, field services, and construction for a wide variety of technically challenging projects.  This position will require strong analytical, problem solving, and technical writing skills.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team.

  • Ability to develop site investigations in accordance with all Federal or State programs to address all exposure pathways of concern.

  • Ability to perform data evaluation to meet program-specific goals.
  • Perform various engineering related calculations and analyses of information in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects.
  • Coordinate the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and reports.  Assist in coordination of report production and development of engineering designs and specifications.  Perform quality control (QC) checks.
  • Perform field assignments including resident engineering, construction observation, site inspections, and conducting field assessment of properties.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of health and safety practices.
  • Prepare daily QC reports, maintain field notes and photo documentation as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, plus minimum 3 to 5 years related experience.

•EIT certification preferred but not required.

•Familiarity with remediation system design process preferred but not required.

•Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory processes and reporting preferred

•Able to analyze, interpret and present data.

•Able to meet time sensitive deadlines.

•Able to carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.

•Able to travel for weeks at a time and have a valid driver’s license.

•Proficient with Microsoft Office software particularly Excel

•Knowledge in the use of CAD programs including AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD. 

•Effective verbal communication skills with colleagues, vendors, and subcontractors.

•Effective organizational skills to maintain deliverables, analytical results, and field notes in project files.

•Effective writing skills to assist with report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates.

•Able to work effectively in group settings.
