Westford Veterinary Emergency Referral Center is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to our emergency team.
Veterinary Technician – Emergency
Westford, Massachusetts
$27.00-$29.00/hour depending on experience, licensure and availability, and is eligible for up to a $1,000 incentive bonus.
This busy, 24-hour hospital has availability on our day, swing and overnight shifts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide compassionate care to patients and their families
- Maintain detailed and compliant medical records
- Conducts basic examinations to assess stability.
- Perform advanced nursing skills, including CPR, Phlebotomy, Cystocentesis, lab tests and CRI calculation and administration
- Administer and monitor sedated patients for minor procedures as well as practicing advanced anesthetic skills
- Perform patient discharges
- Prepare treatment estimates and discuss financial commitments with clients
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas

REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
- Certified or Licensed Veterinary Technician in Massachusetts or eligible for transfer highly preferred
- Prior experience with anesthesia required
- Prior specialty and emergency experience required
- Must be a team player and have compassion for pets and their people
