Overview
Renewable Land Agents negotiate solar, wind, or similar agreements within project areas and parameters defined by clients; explain the principles and advantages of renewable development to individual land owners.

Responsibilities

  • Makes independent decision within established parameters on how best to approach land owners and proceed with agreement negotiation.
  • Meets with landowners either at his or her property or another agreed upon location

  • Establishes trust and rapport with land owners to facilitate negotiations and have a positive working relationship. 

  • Negotiates agreement with landowners on behalf of clients

  • Explains project to landowners including expectations, procedures, timing, and financial arrangements

  • Provides reports to Project managers on the status of their negotiations an details of executed lease agreements

  • Prepares lease agreement packets containing the lease agreement and other necessary documents related to the transaction. 

Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in outside sales, real estate, negotiating leases and/or property sale agreements or equivalent related experiences.

  • Knowledge of electrical infrastructure preferred

  • Previous renewable energy negotiation preferred

  • Proficient in Google Earth and Google Docs/Sheets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in order to meet project deadlines

  • Ability to gain trust of clients and landowners to facilitate the lease negotiation process

  • Posses a high level of professionalism and ethical standards

  • Intermediate familiarity with standard computer applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Significant travel may be required

  • Work outside normal business hours may be required

  • Ability to travel to land owner residences or other agreed upon meeting locations
