The position is an excellent fit for a highly motivated leader who enjoys working in a high-paced, deadline driven environment.  This position is for a self-starter who enjoys managing a team but can also contribute to the development of written content to differentiate Weld North Education’s brands Edgenuity/Imagine Learning in proposal responses.  As the Bids & Proposals Director, you will collaborate with the Director of Field Operations and Enablement and other internal teams in creating engaging and accurate responses to bids across multiple product suites. You will lead the team of bid writers and support the development of bid language, positioning and provide support for other sales related initiatives.  K12 Education bid experience is a must. All office-based employees or employees meeting face-to-face with other employees are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

A Day in the Life as a Bids & Proposal Director

In this role, you`ll have the opportunity to manage sourcing of proposals and responses specific to our services, including management of timelines, writing new content, organizing content and positioning related to the digital products across multiple product suites.   You will be responsible for ensuring that there is a match between the customer`s goals and objectives and the proposed product and services. The Bids & Proposals Director will have exceptional writing skills, project management skills, and ability to understand the educational industry and are willing to engage in and contribute to ensuring that our bid responses are effective, complete, and accurate and meet all bid deadlines.

Essential Job Functions

-          Manage sourcing of proposals and responses specific to our services, including writing new content, organizing content from other contributors, and ensuring the professionalism and timeliness of final RFP responses at the state and district level.

-          Provide value to each proposal being developed as a knowledgeable resource, strategic thinker, and value-added resource to the sales organization.

-          Coordinate cross-departments with sales, marketing, operations, and engineering to provide the best responses and ensure timely responses to RFPs, including organizing standard answers to common proposal questions.

-          Identify gaps in current RFP response model strategy and propose new ideas and secure support from internal stakeholders to execute improvements.

-          Continuously track, evaluate, and improve RFP responses based on customer feedback, sales needs, and market research.

-          Train sales on RFP processes as needed.

-          Strong understanding of client needs while also managing the team of bid writers.

-          Other duties as required.


-          Minimum Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field and 8+ years of experience in K-12 education market and in designing and developing compelling RFP strategies; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

-          Exceptional technical writing, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.

-          Previous experience as an RFP Manager.

-          Strong project management skills, experience in driving multiple stakeholders and departments involved.

-          Attention to detail and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

-          Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and peers that are not under direct control.

-          Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-          Self-motivated, results-driven with a high level of initiative and a sense of urgency.

-          Consultative coaching and development skills.

-          Expertise in business software applications and design (such as Microsoft Office applications, PowerPoint, Adobe, Engagement Tools, etc.).

-          High adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
