Summary

As a Project Manager reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end execution of a diverse portfolio of small-scale projects, typically valued at under $1 million. You are responsible for ensuring these projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining high quality standards and client satisfaction.

This role requires a high degree of agility and organization, as you will often manage multiple projects simultaneously, each with different scopes and in different project phases. You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager to align project goals with broader company objectives and provide regular status updates on resource allocation and financial performance.

Responsibilities include championing project delivery through the project lifecycle, including: 

  • Initiation: Align with sales and application/solutions team to identify high-level requirements & all impacted stakeholder groups, and to align the project scope. Lead project Kickoff with internal & external resources and customer.
  • Execution:Leads internal and external project teams to safely complete project related work within the established timeline and targets. Coordinate multiple internal/external resources in areas such as mechanical/electrical installations (racking, conveyor, workstations, etc.), commissioning of automated systems, integration of software & IT systems, customer training, and go-live & stabilization.
  • Budget Management:Manages/tracks actuals and forecasted spend.
  • Scope:Ensures scope is managed and changes follow the PMO change mgmt. protocols. 
  • Quality:Gets the details rights. Ensures project deliverables achieve expected outcomes.
  • Risk & Issue Management:Proactively identify and resolve problems; manage issue/risk processes.
  • Communications:Establish comms plans and ensure all stakeholder are informed /engaged. 
  • Change Management: Partners with stakeholders to formally integrate change management best practices and frameworks to ensure sustainability of solution implemented.
  • Facilitation: Able to bring together a group of people to chart out the best possible course for the project to ensure its success.
  • Closure: Ensures customer satisfaction through successful achievement of final acceptance and handover to aftermarket/service. Actively uses, tracks and shares lessons learned within the organization.

Essential Functions (Each Function tied to projects under $1M)

  • Organizes project teams by assigning responsibilities, developing schedules, and determining resource requirements for project success.
  • Performs business analysis and drafts formal requirements to align scope, solutions, resources, timelines, and costs.
  • Collaborates with solutions teams to estimate project phases and allocates tasks to meet cost and time targets.
  • Executes established project plans, monitoring ongoing progress and performance against defined milestones.
  • Identifies and coordinates workstreams, as well as and orchestrates collaboration across the project team.
  • Monitors the status of projects including cost, timing, and staffing.
  • Identifies and resolves obstacles to completing project on time and to budget.
  • Conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Manages vendors and contractors, ensuring seamless integration and high service standards.
  • Delivers projects on time and within budget while serving as the primary client contact for quality and specifications.
  • Forecasts project financials and resource utilization while managing revenue models and cost-to-completion projections.
  • Identifies resources needed to complete work and collaborates with resource manager(s) to assemble appropriate skills/teams.
  • Manages issues, risks, and changes using appropriate and agreed upon processes and tools.
  • Provides regular status reports and can communicate to executive leadership.
  • Assists with defining and leading Change Management associated with a project.
  • Supporting Customer Experience Center through Customer and Partner visits, and center maintenance/cleanliness
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Project Management, General Business, Management, or similar studies.
  • Preferred: Degree in Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Required: Applicant should have 2+ years’ experience in Project Management, Project Engineering, or similar field
  • Applicant should show experience running multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion.
  • Application should have experience with logistics & material handling robotics and automation projects and technologies for example autonomous mobile robots (AMR), automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), conveyors, sortation, co-bots, etc.
  • Proven ability to drive projects from concept through completion with minimal guidance.
  • Familiarity or experience working with continuous improvement specialists to deliver projects.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% to project sites as necessary.
  • Must be located in, or willing to relocate to, Atlanta GA
  • Previous Start-Up experience preferred

Computer Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel (deep knowledge of formulas and data analysis).
  • Intermediate skills with team productivity tools (SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Intermediate skills in process mapping tools (Visio or equivalent)
