Summary
The Communications Intern will support the Corporate Communications function in delivering strategic internal and external communications initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, elevate our brand, and enhance our reputation as an employer and partner of choice.
This role offers hands-on experience supporting executive communications, internal campaigns, content development, social media, brand storytelling, and special projects, including high-visibility initiatives such as corporate milestone celebrations, multimedia storytelling, and cross-functional engagement efforts.
This is a paid internship designed to provide meaningful project ownership, exposure to senior leadership communications, and professional development in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Internship Experience
Our XX-week internship program (May XX – DATE XX) is designed for students looking to make full use of their talents through hands–on work experience. You’ll participate in meaningful projects that leave a lasting impact on our organization. In addition to supporting business projects, you’ll hear from leaders across the organization, complete a capstone project summarizing your work experiences, and join your fellow interns in a variety of fun teambuilding activities.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications Support
  • Assist in drafting and editing internal communications, such as intranet articles and newsletters
  • Support campaign planning and content development tied to quarterly themes and enterprise priorities
  • Help track engagement metrics and summarize performance insights
  • Assist with meeting and employee event communication materials
External & Brand Communications
  • Support content development for social media, website, and external storytelling
  • Assist in drafting posts that highlight culture, community involvement, partnerships, and employee stories
  • Help maintain brand consistency across materials and presentations
  • Research industry trends and competitive communications approaches
Centennial & Special Projects
  • Support storytelling initiatives, including collecting stories, photos, and historical materials
  • Assist with organizing and cataloging content for book, documentary, or digital features
  • Help coordinate logistics and communications for milestone-related campaigns and events
  • Provide administrative and project coordination support as needed
General Communications Operations
  • Assist with maintaining content calendars
  • Support presentation development
  • Conduct research to support messaging and positioning
  • Provide light design or formatting support, as applicable
Qualifications
  • Current undergrad/grad students who have or will graduate between May 2026 – May 2028
  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, English, or related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Interest in corporate communications, brand storytelling, or employee engagement
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
  • Experience writing for digital platforms
  • Familiarity with intranet or website content management systems
