Summary
Weisiger Group is seeking a seasoned SAP Basis Lead with deep experience managing SAP S/4HANA landscapes and supporting enterprise security frameworks. This role demands extensive technical expertise, leadership in system operations, and hands-on support for user access and authorization. A strong emphasis is placed on SAP system performance, availability, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP Basis operations, roles and authorizations in S/4HANA, transport management using tools such as SAP ChaRM or equivalent, and experience supporting multi-instance and hybrid infrastructure environments.
Essential Functions
- Lead installation, configuration, and administration of SAP S/4HANA systems (DEV, QA, PRD).
- Oversee SAP Basis operations: backups, performance tuning, transport management, and kernel patching keeping the overall SAP environment compliant and up to date.
- Oversee system installations, upgrades, migrations, and patching across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Coordinate upgrades, migrations, and system refresh activities with minimal downtime and within established maintenance windows.
- Support full lifecycle management of roles, profiles, and authorizations in SAP. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to enforce segregation of duties (SoD) and access governance.
- Manage and optimize SAP Transport Management processes (e.g., SAP ChaRM or equivalent tools).
- Monitor system performance and implement tuning improvements.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning for SAP systems.
- Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
- Utilize a toolset for change-tracking, service management, and cross-team collaboration.
- Integrate SAP systems with third-party platforms including cloud infrastructure.
- Maintain thorough documentation of architecture, procedures, and security protocols.
- Mentor junior team members and lead troubleshooting efforts during major incidents.
- Facilitate, Lead, and manage offshore and onshore partner Basis team members and work.

Education and/or Experience
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
- SAP Certified Technology Associate (SAP Basis or SAP HANA).
- 10+ years of SAP Basis experience, including hands-on S/4HANA, HANA DB, SAP BTP, and SAP Solution Manager exposure.
- Extensive knowledge of HANA DB management, and performance monitoring tools. Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, administration, and performance optimization.
- Deep expertise in SAP kernel, patch, Service Package and Release Management.
- Proven experience with SAP Transport Management Systems (e.g., SAP ChaRM or equivalent tools).
- Hands-on experience with SAP Landscape Transformation, Fiori, and SAP Gateway services.
- Experience with SAP upgrades, OS/DB migrations.
- Knowledge of SAP High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) strategies.
- Experience managing multi-instance environments and working within a template-led approach transformation.
- Strong understanding of SAP Authorization concepts and GRC frameworks including authorizations design, troubleshooting, and auditing in S/4HANA.
- Knowledge of regulatory and data residency considerations.
- Understanding of SAP licensing and sizing tools and reports.
- Project leadership experience in SAP implementations or upgrades.
- Vendor and stakeholder management experience.
- Budgeting and resource planning for Basis operations.
- Change and release management experience using ITIL-based tools.
- Proficiency in Jira and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership in production support.
- Clear, confident communicator with strong documentation capabilities.
- Experience working onsite and interfacing with business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira for project and task tracking is essential, ensuring tight coordination across teams and efficient delivery of IT services.
- Experience working with System Integrators, Business Integrators, and third-party vendors.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a professional manner.
Preferred Certifications:
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP S/4HANA System Administration
- SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver
- SAP Certified Security Professional (or equivalent)
- Training or certifications in ITIL, GRC, or HANA DB Administration are highly valued
