Summary

This position will proactively support Carolina Cat equipment and customers and their equipment by managing telematics functions and administration. This includes but is not limited to connecting and registering telematics devices, maintaining their respective subscriptions, and registering user accounts. Maintain and Manage customer DCN and UCID accounts pertaining to VisionLink.

Essential Functions

  • Obtain registration data to connect telematics devices for Carolina Cat from New sales, Used sales, and the Cat Rental Store.
  • Work with technicians to ensure satisfactory data is supplied to the back office for registration when telematics devices are installed on customers’ equipment.
  • Work in Caterpillar’s DSP portals to register and maintain subscriptions
  • Activate 3D Ready subscription and assign a cost to assets.
  • Manage telematics bills from Caterpillar and Trimble to ensure Carolina Cat and its customers are being billed accurately.
  • Onboarding new customers as needed with DCN & CWS identification
  • Maintain the CVA non-reporting assets action list
  • Work with other Cat Dealer Product link admins to ensure subscriptions and services are maintained across territory lines when machines are sold or transferred.
  • Identify and resolve telematics data and portal issues using Caterpillar’s DSN network and Trimble support systems.
  • Assist Technology Technicians with technical issues as a liaison to the DSN and Trimble support networks.
  • Serve as the resident product link expert and stay updated on new offerings from Caterpillar and Trimble on telematics to ensure our technology technicians have adequate tooling and skills to perform their duties.
  • Monitor Product link parts inventory levels and communicate resource and stocking level concerns.
  • Attend offsite Caterpillar training seminars when necessary; overnight travel of no more than a week at a time is usually required, depending on the location.
  • Work with customers and assisted them in integrating telematics data into their business system through API feeds.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school degree,
  • Two or Four year degree highly preferred
  • Experience in service and/or parts recommended

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Experienced user of the dealer’s business systems (SISWEB, Contract Tracking, Work Order, or Parts Ordering) with ability to learn new platforms such as CM Dashboard, EMT and Service Scheduler

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
