Description

Weidner Apartment Homes is looking for a Payroll Manager to oversee and supervise payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and government regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
  • Manage workflow of payroll team to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely including new hires, terminations, deductions and pay rates.
  • Complies with federal, state, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements: advising management on needed actions.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate and confirm reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy of semi-monthly internal payroll billings to properties.
  • Create ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed using ADP Reporting Tool.
  • Calculate and process terminations in ADP and prepare manual termination checks in accordance with state and provincial laws.
  • Oversee processing of monthly US and Canada Workers’ Comp billings to properties and required year-end reporting. 
  • Prepare and enter journal entries for payroll utilizing Yardi software.
  • Complete month end close and reconcile payroll bank accounts.
  • Troubleshoot associate ADP Portal access issues and questions.
  • Maintains associate confidence and protects payroll operation by keeping information confidential.
  • Research payroll questions and provide excellent customer service in a timely and positive
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience processing multi-state payroll. Canada payroll experience a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including, preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • Proficient with US ADP, ADP Reporting and Time & Attendance required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: advance skills preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, detail oriented, organized with exceptional customer service skills.
