About the role:

If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As a Regional Director you will be a key member of the senior leadership team leading the strategic vision and successful growth of the Property Management operation. The Regional Director will be charged with overseeing all people, operational and financial aspects of an assigned portfolio, while ensuring our Tenants are receiving a best-in-class experience.

 What you'll do:

  • Overall accountability for the operational and financial performance of the assigned multifamily portfolio.  Responsible for creating monthly and quarterly variance reports to present to Asset Management teams.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget for portfolio; monitors budgets and ensures financial and operational efficiency of the assigned properties
  • Conducts regular visits to properties within portfolio to monitor physical condition
  • Provides guidance in tenant/landlord laws and ordinances both locally and federally (i.e. eviction, security deposits, etc.). 
  • Monitors and maximizes rental collection activity across the assigned portfolio
  • Oversight of training, coaching, and building successful teams
  • Evaluates the market to identify competitive strategies for capital improvements, rent comps, etc.
  • Works with Property Managers, Senior Leadership and People Team to address staffing needs and employee relations; participates in hiring process for operations staff as appropriate
  • Creates incentives for Property Managers and other team members to drive specific initiatives (i.e. leasing, reducing make-ready turn time, etc.)
  • Source property-level service contracts that are in-line with budgeted expectations
  • Assists with due diligence, acquisitions, and disposition property management transitions
  • Create initiatives to maximize resident retention
  • Implements property-specific marketing plans
  • Leads properties and teams to outperform industry standards and to set a bar of “best in class”

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years’ experience of Leadership or People Management
  • College Degree
  • Desire and ability to effectively work in diverse communities and to build relationships across lines of differences
  • Working knowledge of property regulations or a willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software, Yardi preferred, or a willingness to learn
  • Understanding of marketing and accounting principles
  • Possess strong leadership skills and enjoy training, mentoring and empowering people
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
