General Description
The Circulation Manager is responsible for managing all facets of circulation/marketing activities necessary to meet the goals of assigned publications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute all circulation marketing and promotion campaigns for controlled and paid circulation – new business, renewal, onserts, inserts, direct mail, e-mail marketing efforts, and invoice series
- Plan and execute paid and controlled telemarketing campaigns
- Manage telemarketing vendors
- Work with Director, Circulation to prepare and manage annual budgets, including expense control and increase circulation revenue
- Process publication invoices in a timely manner
- Submit monthly accruals to accounting department
- Manage subscriber demographic mix as directed by the publisher
- Develop and submit print orders
- Work with production department
- Maintain marketing and promotion reports
- Maintain and submit postal reports to accounting department
- Issue quotes for postage and postal approval for supplements and inserts
- Execute list-merchandising requests
- Monitor and manage fulfillment house to insure accuracy of file
- Prepare and submit BPA statements
- Work with the printer to be sure that the issues are mailed in a timely manner
- Submit Statement of Ownership
- Maintain subscriber e-mail list hygiene
- Report monthly e-newsletter deployment reports
- Coordinate on-site distribution of Show Dailies at trade shows
- Communicate with organizations to maintain membership files
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BS degree required
- 3+ years’ experience in circulation/publishing required
- Knowledge of BPA rules required
- Advanced computer skills
- Strong data analysis and metrics skills
- Able to efficiently analyze data and deliver key insights
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently and under pressure
- Knowledge of postal rules required
