WebMD is seeking an SEO Intern in the WebMD division to join its summer internship program. Our internship program allows students the opportunity to obtain valuable, applicable work experience in a fast-paced, and challenging environment.

 

We're looking for a motivated and organized individual who is very detail oriented. In this dynamic internship role, you’ll support our Audience Development team in implementing, auditing and reporting on the success of SEO optimizations of content on both sites. The SEO Intern role requires basic project management skills and the ability to work with others across the organization including Product & Project Managers, Editorial, and WebDev.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Audience Development team to optimize content on webmd.com
  • Perform keyword research for content improvements and additions
  • Perform SEO audits on pages and sections of our sites to identify missing SEO best practices
  • Use Google Search Console to identify trends in visibility, crawling, and response codes
  • Analyze and monitor site and page performance for keywords
  • Report on traffic progress and trends using Omniture (Adobe analytics)
  • Analyze internal and backlinks, determine quality links and create link building strategies that follow SEO best practices
  • Assist with content creation plans to support high-priority topics
  • Collect and analyze information on competitor strategies

Required:

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • Enrolled in Undergrad and returning for the Fall 2019 semester.


Qualifications

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and pivot when trending topics appear
  • Possess a positive attitude under pressure and excellent interpersonal team skills
  • Voraciously curious about SEO trends and techniques
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Database experience a plus
  • Experience with Tableau a plus
  • Comfortable pulling reports including assigning segments in Omniture
  • Experience in SEO
  • Solid understanding of and history working with content management systems
  • Familiarity using common SEO tools
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Search Console including extracting and analyzing data
  • Strong knowledge of Search Engine algorithms
  • Comfortable pulling reports including assigning segments in Omniture
  • Familiar with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
