Key Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality headlines that click and engage with both broad and niche audiences
  • Use CMS to curate WebMD content for a variety of uses
  • Make recommendations for content development
  • Conduct competitive content analyses
  • Moderate user-generated comments/messages
  • Make informed, data-driven decisions to help readers feel or live better
  • Manage multiple projects with strict attention to detail and deadlines
  • Work independently or switch gears to collaborate with a team

Key Requirements/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism/related major (or cumulative work experience)
  • Strong editorial judgment
  • 3-4 years’ work in digital media
  • Familiar with trends online and offline (pop culture to senior living)
  • Can edit your own work and the writing of others
  • Understands diverse audiences and their needs
  • Comfortable speaking up in small group meetings
  • Effectively communicates in both plain language and expert vocab
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Knows about health (conditions, wellness/lifestyle, insurance)
  • Current Social Media platforms
  • Supporting/contributing with team to deliver large group projects
  • SEO basics -- can use search engines to help identify content gaps, make competitive analyses
  • Organized and strict about meeting deadlines; can prioritize and manage projects and time
  • Analytics Tools (Adobe, Google Analytics, Searchmetrics)
