Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Partner with content development leadership to discover, synthesize and clearly articulate the professional development needs at the individual level
  • Use knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements and guidelines for CME content development to design, develop, implement, and measure the impact of learning solutions aligned with business priorities and individualized for each learner
  • Implement a mentoring program to assist staff along their career journey by facilitating development of higher-level medical content development skills
  • Apply best practices in CME content design and development to create impactful, blended-learning and non-training deliverables that will achieve the goals of the operations organization
  • Manage milestones, deadlines, and scheduling for multiple simultaneous projects, keeping the team up-to-date with progress and results
  • Maintain a centralized training calendar and library, seeking and developing effective training materials and resources
  • Create a communication plan detailing the professional development opportunities available
  • Create engaging learning experiences
  • Analyze training processes and make recommendations to improve efficiencies and existing learning materials
  • Function independently in all of the above

Who You Are (Skills/QUALIFICATIONS) 

  • Experience in localizing global content to ensure relevance in local markets
  • Knowledgeable and up-to-date on what’s current in learning and professional development, but also the medical education industry
  • Ability to successfully balance and follow up on multiple tasks
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems with a positive attitude
  • High energy with a willingness to accept varied assignments
  • Able to travel less than 20% (post pandemic)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIRMENTS)

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree with relevant experience in the medical content, publishing, or life sciences industries
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in the medical education industry highly preferred, including excellent editorial skills in the area of online publishing and text manuscript development; familiarity with AMA style preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a training function; Experience with web-based training systems (such as Brain Shark) a plus
  • Experience using a wide variety of learning/ training concepts and methods, including one-on-one, group, video, and virtual platforms
  • Proven ability to apply principles of adult learning in the design of learning solutions
  • Ability to research needs and effectively create training materials, including behavioral and learning objectives as well as skilled question writing
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and the tactically and can constantly switch between the two
