Education: Degree in medicine, pharmacy or health sciences discipline or equivalent experience with 1 to 2 years of experience
Role Description:
The role coordinates and performs the content indexing function of matching and presenting relevant health content using a proprietary Content Management System. Content indexing consists of:
Analyzing health, wellness, and benefits/HR content to identify related concepts
Assigning subject, target, and other personalization indexing metadata to records according to specifications
This position is responsible for executing the following functions and activities:
Work collaboratively with the Content Manager to coordinate and schedule all indexing projects and work,
Review internal and external health content, assigning subject and target metadata to enhance search, retrieval, and personalization capabilities,
Continual Quality Assurance of existing content to ensure accuracy and consistency of indexing and related metadata
Provide assistance in compiling quarterly reporting for compliance and accreditation purposes
Select and upload content, as assigned
Required Skills:
Understanding of health information-seeking behavior by consumers and/or clinicians
Knowledge of controlled vocabularies and their structure (particularly UMLS and/or SNOMED)
Understanding of differences between concepts, keywords, and text words
Experience cataloging or indexing original digital content
Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Proven ability to grasp project requirements and act on specifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of quality assurance processes
Desired Skills:
Experience in indexing of medical content, OR
Experience in original cataloging of medical materials, OR
Experience in providing consumer health information at point of delivery
