Medscape seeks a motivated, adaptable, team-oriented Associate Proposal Manager to support our Grant Development department. By joining Medscape, the leading provider of online medical education for clinicians (medscape.org), you will work with other talented team members to create proposals seeking funds for the development of continuing medical education (CME) initiatives. These initiatives make a positive impact on physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers and, in turn, the lives of patients worldwide. Please be prepared to discuss your project management experience. This position is remote with occasional travel to the Newark, NJ office. 


WHAT YOU’LL DO:


  • Manage multiple proposal development projects from start to finish; these projects involve team members who represent different departments, with some based in different time zones 
  • Use our web-based sales and project management tools to coordinate the proposal development process
  • Submit proposals and additional supporting documentation via online grantor portals according to guidelines  
  • Ensure that all proposals are delivered on time and reflect approved budgets and specifications
  • Schedule and lead project initiation and status/planning conference calls and send ongoing communications to the project team related to program goals and status
  • Serve as point of contact for freelance writers and copyeditor to obtain materials necessary to perform their project-related tasks 
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (QUALIFICATIONS):


  • Bachelor's degree (preferred); PMI certification a plus
  • Minimum of 1 year experience project and process management with a degree, or 4 years of experience without a degree, within the publishing, internet technologies, healthcare or medical education environment a plus 
  • Experience with continuing medical education materials a plus
  • High professionalism, ability to work independently, and skill at building rapport and collaborative work relationships
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills, and an eye for details
  • Ability to provide creative project management solutions independently or within a team dynamic as issues arise   
  • Excellent verbal communication, writing, and grammar skills; editorial experience a plus
  • Above average ability to use Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience with web-based document sharing sites (such as Box or Sharepoint) and web-based project management tools (such as Workfront) a plus
Salary Range of $55,000-$60,000
