This position can be 100% remote. This team works out of our NYC and Durham offices and this hire can choose whether to come in when they please.

Responsibilities:

WebMD is searching for a Motion Graphics Designer who can edit and create in a fast-paced environment. The Motion Graphics Designer will work closely with the in-house production team to turn around finished products in Adobe After Effects and Premiere under tight deadlines.

 

WebMD has a vast suite of products that have different needs, and the multimedia team is often working with several independent groups on a mix of projects. The Motion Graphics Designer needs to be able to juggle several projects at once with varying degree of instruction – from storyboards with specific instructions for design to vague prompts with no design instruction.

 

The Motion Graphics Designer will be working alongside other motion designers and within the larger WebMD multimedia team but will usually be solely responsible for the motion graphics on a project-by-project basis. Sharp attention to details is a must. 

 

The Motion Graphics Designer will be required to interact with Editorial, Program Managers, Online Publishing, and other internal teams as needed. Candidate must have ability to consistently format edits to match established designs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or similar years of motion graphics editing or relatable experience
  • 2+ years of strong motion graphics and video editing experience
  • Proficiency with Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of video codecs
  • Technical literacy of video formats
  • Strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of working with 4K footage and proxies
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to work independently and be receptive to direction
  • Ability to interface with senior management

 

Preferred

  • 5 years professional experience in video editiing and motion graphics
  • Both Mac and PC proficiency
  • Experience in 3D design, rendering, and/or animation is a plus
  • Experience using the Unreal Engine is a plus
  • Experience developing assets or applications in AR/VR is a plus
  • Knowledgeable of other multimedia skills – general video production, audio editing, etc.
  • Creative problem solving
  • Conceptual understanding of web publishing methods
