Role Summary:

  • Works closely with editorial director to recruit MDs for videos that capsulize stages of management for major medical conditions
  • With MDs, creates clear management pathways and framework for video assignments, with particular emphasis on treatment options
  • Maintains regular contact with MDs to identify need for video and guidelines updates, as well as working with the content manager to schedule video updates with MDs and add or revise guidelines as needed
  • Match guidelines with videos and write up summary of guidelines that match the specific step in the decision pathway; finalize guidelines after MD review
  • Edit video transcripts as needed to match video updates

Requirements:

  • Minimum of college degree (combined background in medicine/journalism preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience with a medical publication targeting professionals
  • Experience working directly with MDs in creating content for other medical specialists
  • Clinical and/or editorial experience in Oncology, Cardiology, and Internal Medicine/Family Medicine preferred.
  • Conversant with key/emerging issues in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Familiarity with Web publishing and basic website analytics.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills working as a member of a large medical editorial team
  • Works well under tight deadlines with high-volume content
