Job Description

The Director, Strategy and Business Development at EngagedMedia, A WebMD Company will collaboratively develop and implement the long-term strategic plan and prioritize key strategic initiatives to effectively build and sustain short and long-term growth, as well as profitability for EngagedMediaThe role will build strategic partnerships within the specialty pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, working cross-departmentally ensuring collaboration and coordination with sales, operations, product management, and multiple business units across WebMD (sales, point of care, provider solution, and direct to patient teams) and partner companies to ensure alignment.  This will include, but is not limited to, cultivating relationships with pharmaceutical brands/manufacturers along with other stakeholders in the specialty value chain (i.e. HUBS, SPs, etc)

 

It’s part of the Director’s job to develop overarching strategies based upon the business direction/needs to ensure the team is executing on the goals of both the client and the business. As a member of the EngagedMedia leadership team, you will also be accountable for defining and owning strategic account planning and deployment across our client base. Ultimately, this knowledge will help the leadership team drive strategic objectives and tactics resulting in increased customer attainment, retention, and revenue/relationship growth.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with EngagedMedia Leadership and Management Teams to develop and execute the corporate strategic growth plan within our specialty pharma growth channel
  • Work with the EngagedMedia leadership team to set strategic priorities and drive execution throughout the team
  • Lead cross-functional efforts with sales, AM, and ops teams to evaluate business and market opportunities, and drive those opportunities to fruition with strategic planning and execution
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and their teams across the organization to position EngagedMedia and its offerings with their strategic initiatives, prioritizing resources as required
  • Champion new opportunities across the organization, specifically as it relates to product growth with the specialty pharmaceutical sector, working collaboratively to identify and execute on critical business needs while removing inefficiencies and / or any obstacles
  • Conduct and integrate ongoing market research, as well as internal and external analyses to continuously identify opportunities for expansion, growth, and profit

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years in a client or strategic partner facing role, including experience in business development, strategic partnerships, account management in technology / pharma / device / other healthcare services
  • Demonstrated achievement of growth, retention, and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to impact and influence customers and partners with a high degree of autonomy, energy, flexibility, and drive to create real and measurable business results
  • Deep subject matter and market expertise in pharmaceutical and healthcare promotional spaces (through direct industry experience or as a partner agency), and the ability to apply strategic partnership methodology to adjust, plan, and execute to meet changing market and/or customer needs and drive growth
  • Strong relationships with pharmaceutical brand teams
  • Highly collaborative, agile mindset with sharp critical and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong competencies in these areas for leadership and management: interpersonal skills, delegation, team building, conflict resolution and decision making
  • Highly organized and proficient at executing when experiencing multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership across multiple channels and become a trusted mentor/coach to colleagues, and a trusted partner to internal and external senior business decision makers
  • Based in Atlanta, or willing to relocate

 

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
  • Brand strategy or management / growth strategy / brand marketing experience preferred
  • Change management experience preferred
  • Willingness to engage in both tactical hands-on work and strategic work as needed to manage and complete priorities
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office and Salesforce or other CRMs
