Medscape is seeking a Director, Product Management to lead the strategic vision for the Education division. This will be a critical role with high visibility within the organization. The Education product portfolio supports both the US and the Global business, ensuring the Medscape learning platform supports new and existing product offerings via a thoughtful, well-designed member experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders to develop a product vision and roadmap that supports business growth and revenue goals;
  • Define and enforce adherence to a new product request methodology, including definition, prioritization, documentation, and operationalization; 
  • Manage and mentor an existing product team and ensure their roadmap is successfully executed, while guiding prioritization to ensure the roadmap best represents where the business wants to go;
  • Work directly with other product departments to ensure cross-team dependencies and projects dovetail as part of the larger Medscape strategy;
  • Keep all stakeholders regularly informed of product management and development planning while managing multiple product simultaneously;
  • Be a passionate advocate for our products and possess strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Execute on statistical hypothesis testing plans toward making the best-informed decisions;
  • Monitor user experience and coordinate user testing to determine effectiveness and impact on user engagement



  • 8 + years of experience in software development and product management in education industry;
  • Experience in gathering and documenting product requirements for development teams including business rationale, user stories, functional specifications, and wireframing;
  • Experience managing a team of direct-report Product Managers;
  • Demonstrated understanding of web user psychology, behavioral economics, and user experience trends;
  • Demonstrable familiarity with core web technologies is a must, including frontend and backend technologies
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing competitive landscape for a given market, and general understanding of product innovation and web trends;
  • Advanced organizational skills;
  • Advanced communication skills, i.e. a strong and confident communicator able to converse easily among business, editorial and development teams;
  • Highly proficient and comfortable in G-Suite;
  • Experience working in Agile and matrixed environments
