Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.

WebMD is looking for someone with great ideas and analytical skills to meet the needs of our growing and ever-changing audience, including patients and healthcare professionals. In this role, you will strategically pitch ideas, brainstorm with others to develop ideas, and evaluate those ideas to grow engagement with our health sites and apps. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute new content, marketing and product ideas that will grow engagement with our audience and attract new audience segments
  • Partner with content creation, marketing, and product teams to incubate the idea
  • Develop content, product, and marketing plans to realize the best ideas, including resourcing needs and establishing KPIs
  • Make informed, data-driven decisions to develop a business case for the idea
  • Make recommendations for content development and present those ideas to senior management
  • Effectively facilitate team meetings, ideation, and brainstorming
  • Conduct competitive analysis and gap analysis

Key Requirements/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, journalism or related major (or cumulative work experience)
  • 5+ years work experience in content strategy, marketing, product management or related area
  • Understands web and app user psychology and user experience trends with an emphasis on growing engagement
  • Understands diverse audiences and their needs
  • A strong, confident communicator and the ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time with ease

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Work experience in digital media/publishing
  • Work experience within the healthcare industry
  • Knows about and is passionate about health (conditions, wellness/lifestyle, insurance)
  • Knows email marketing best practices and SEO basics
  • Experience in building engagement with various content types (articles, blogs, podcasts, interactives etc.)
  • Fluency with Excel and analytics tools (Adobe SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics, Searchmetrics)
  • Team player
  • Organized and strict about meeting deadlines
  • High accountability, proactive approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
