Medscape from WebMD is seeking an energetic and experienced Senior Product Manager to join our team and support the management and development of our online marketing platforms and physician promotion products, which proudly serve the professional health care industry globally.

The Senior Product Manager is expected to perform all product management duties including product portfolio management & prioritization, ideation with stakeholders, market and user research, analytic inputs, requirements gathering and project planning, documentation and wireframe preparation, and post-launch product evaluation and maintenance. Stakeholders and collaborative teams include marketing, sales, editorial, project management, production, design, engineering, QA, and data services.

The successful candidate must understand the digital promotion space intimately and have the experience, vision, creativity, and drive to get up to speed quickly to perform this leadership role effectively and independently. A balance of business understanding and technical acumen is required to translate the business needs into a web & app products and features that serves the present and anticipates the future to the greatest degree possible.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead cross-functional implementation teams for marketing platform initiatives and promotional products
  • Create product roadmaps, feature backlogs and product documentation such as user stories, use cases, user flows, logic flows, and functional specifications
  • Be a passionate advocate for our products and possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Keep all stakeholders regularly informed of product management and development planning
  • Understand web user psychology and user experience trends
  • Execute on statistical hypothesis testing plans toward making the best-informed decisions
  • Prioritize time and manage multiple products simultaneously
  • Be very creative and curious and make regular contributions for new product ideas based on market need and analytical conclusions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience
  • 6+ years of related experience with software or web technology industry
  • 3+ years of experience in online and software product management or product related experience
  • Experience with online promotional marketing, and operating with marketing platforms / automated marketing systems
  • Demonstrate experience in gathering and documenting product requirements for development teams including business rationale, user stories, functional specifications, and wireframes
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and be a very strong and confident communicator able to converse easily among business, editorial and engineering teams
  • Ability to ideate quick and efficient solutions to novel, client-driven business objectives
  • Experience with analytics platforms to statistically influence decision making – using Omniture/Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics or similar
  • Up-to-date understanding of market trends and keen interest in following emerging technologies
  • Expertise in web/software user experience

Preferred:

  • Experience within online publishing industry
  • Skills and experience in the pharmaceutical marketing industry, including agency work
