POSITION SUMMARY:

Medscape Education, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers. 

Medscape Education is seeking an individual with experience in project management and process and change management interested in working in the medical education field. The Senior Process Manager works alongside the Program Management Leadership team to ensure a consistent manner in which our project management software is used and projects are managed by the Program Management team. The Program Management team oversees the development of text and multimedia online educational content, which are published globally on the leading healthcare professional education site. Specifically, this role documents, maintains, and trains individuals on program management practices, processes and tools (specifically our project management system, Workfront), trains all new/existing Medscape Education employees on how to use Workfront, and conducts quality control review of project plans. This role collaborates with multiple internal departments (Editorial, Multimedia, Production, Product, CME Accreditation) and external vendors to establish and continuous refine processes and tools to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently document, train, and effectively deploy of a common set of program management practices, processes and tools
  • Lead workshops and trainings for new employees and existing staff related to processes
  • Serve as our business unit local administrator for our project management system (Workfront) by liaising with the corporate administrators to elevate/resolve challenges and working with senior leaders to make improvements and facilitate cross-department collaboration to ensure consistent approaches are applied and to minimize cross-department impact when changes are made
  • Independently develop and roll-out program management processes and development plans in response to new products or product modifications that include definition of scope, requirements, objectives, resource allocation and task schedules and milestones
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to shape, implement, and manage a disciplined program management approach that improves quality, productivity, and effectiveness of program management processes
  • Facilitate identification, prioritization, selection, and scope of process improvement initiatives
  • Independently conduct quality and performance analysis on programs to identify trends, measure process adherence/performance, identify root causes, make recommendations and provide alternatives to management based on business objectives
  • Provide status updates, training, and consulting to stakeholders at all levels of the organization for process improvement and change/project management projects
  • Maintain friendly and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear articulation and an effective communication style

  • Demonstrated superior project and risk management skills, especially in independently leading complex, cross-functional initiatives

  • Experience using web-based project management tools Workfront, a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree specializing in business, project management, industrial engineering or equivalent combination or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years directly related work experience (preferably in medical publishing, CME environment, or internet technologies)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Experience applying Lean / Six Sigma principals to service based projects a plus
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Product Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio) required; Experience with web-based document sharing sites (such as Box), and SharePoint preferred
