Evaluate, recommend and assist in management of the operations and administration of employee benefit plans, as well as manage third party vendor partners and administrative solutions. Perform the day-to-day activities of the benefits department and be accountable for ensuring compliance with government regulations
Primary responsibilities and functions:
Partner with relevant vendors and internal Finance partners to help manage and administer benefit programs/open enrollment, including but not limited to the maintenance of medical, dental, disability, life insurance, FMLA, flexible spending accounts, COBRA.
Manage benefit open enrollment meetings, assist in developing presentation materials, and ensure that all employee health and welfare enrollment elections are processed accurately
Monitor and audit carrier feeds to ensure accuracy of information feeding to various vendors
Ensure compliance with all pertinent federal and local regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefit programs including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements.
Partner with outside consultants, legal counsel to prepare and execute benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements, insurance policies and required amendments to vendor contracts.
Oversee administration of leaves of absences, provide guidance and support for FMLA and ADA accommodation requests
Assist in acquired company plan mergers, transfers and terminations, and recommend an integration approach for existing plans
Assist with the development of subsidiary company benefit administration processes and procedures
Partner with vendors to manage the administration of employee savings plans (US, CAN & UK). Act as liaison with savings plan record keeper, investment advisor, external auditors and legal counsel. Coordinate efforts associated with tax and ERISA compliance audits and reporting.
Prepare savings plans 5500 filings, oversee production of SARS, and other governmental filings and reports for the savings plans to ensure regulatory compliance
In partnership with WebMD Health Services, develop and manage an engaging portfolio of wellness programs and activities.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business, Human Resources or related field
2+ years benefits and retirement (401K) plan experience and/or training
Previous HRIS experience
Leave management experience a plus
Merger/Acquisition experience a plus
