Medscape is seeking a leader of editorial teams that includes Medscape, Univadis, Colliquio, Mediquality, MGP and other global brands. The content created by these editorial teams is physician-facing. 

The vice president, global content, serves a critical role within the organization and provides content leadership and strategy across our global brands, while managing our global content teams. This person develops a unified content strategy for all OUS markets, particularly Europe, to ensure content is developed to meet user and business needs, publishing in multiple languages. This position ensures our global content teams keep physicians abreast of the latest medical and scientific breakthroughs related to their work, while providing authoritative reference material, building on our leadership position in health and medical information worldwide. This person identifies, creates and grows editorial partnerships with medical organizations in pertinent markets, growing our global brand with physicians. This position works closely with both business and editorial colleagues. 

This person must have proven medical journalism or publishing expertise combined with a deep knowledge of the medical field and solid editorial and medical ethics. He or she must possess exceptional operational and organizational skills, most notably the ability to balance competing priorities while meeting business goals. As the focal point for the global content team, the VP must represent the needs of the content team, while working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external parties.


This position manages OUS content, currently in 6-7 markets, with teams totaling 25-30 editors and writers. Responsibilities include:

  • Content strategy development and execution for editorial and structured content
  • Global leadership of content
  • Driving global audience to English-language site as well as in-market sites
  • Partnering with peers and stakeholders across content groups, product, sales, marketing, IT, finance and other parts of the business
  • Forecasting and managing a multimillion-dollar budget
  • Ensuring deep staff expertise in specified areas
  • Tracking content performance and engagement and using that information to inform content creation
  • Forming and managing partnerships with vendors and other journalists


  • 15+ years’ experience in editorial management with an emphasis on content creation teams and process, creative problem-solving and insight development.
  • 10+ years in creating and executing digital content strategy.
  • Deep understanding of how audience drivers and marketing channels work hand in hand with content.
  • Deep experience in workload and priority juggling
