Medscape Education is seeking a passionate, adaptable, and team-oriented Research Assistant to support our independent medical education grant-seeking efforts. As a Research Assistant, you will conduct research designed to first understand and then close gaps in knowledge, confidence, and performance of healthcare providers internationally. What You’ll Do:

With guidance from and in collaboration with Clinical Strategy Directors, you will:

·       Define the data needs and parameters for analyses in order to articulate success of educational initiatives

·       Conduct research projects to translate evaluation questions into analytic plans

·       Conduct on-line surveys of healthcare providers to gather data to define future educational needs/content

·       Analyze research results alone or against publicly-available healthcare data and conduct valid comparison and statistical tests using various analytic tools, including trend and correlation analysis

·       Synthesize and interpret results

·       Design and prepare charts, tables, figures and graphics for reports and presentations

·       Summarize and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders

·       Publish results as posters or presentations at appropriate conferences and/or journal articles

·       Perform background research on current and emerging therapeutic landscape and prepare dossier on key therapeutic developments

·       Perform pipeline research to identify new grant funding sources

·       Have the ability to work overtime or travel for project assignments (estimated 10%), as needed


·       Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Behavioral or Social science, Statistics, or Market Research (preferred) or equivalent years of related experience

·       At least 2 years of relevant experience in research and/or data analytics 

·       Knowledge of research methodology and statistics sufficient to analyze and interpret research study results

·       Above average ability to use Excel or Tableau for reporting/analysis and creating/formatting PowerPoint slides according to pre-specified template

·       Experience in writing research reports and/or proposals

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills (English; additional languages a plus)

·       High professionalism, ability to work independently, and easy rapport in building collaborative work relationships

·       Outstanding time management and organizational skills and possess an eye for details

·       Excellent computer skills that includes working on shared networks and cloud-based systems

·       Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and accommodate frequently changing priorities



·       Experience in Medical Education/ Pharmaceutical/ Healthcare industry a plus

·       Experience prioritizing and completing multiple projects simultaneously for different stakeholders preferred

·       Familiarity with OVID, PubMed, GlobalData, Medtrack preferred

·       Web-based data and document sharing sites and authoring tools (Box, Read Cube, SharePoint, EndNote) a plus
