Description

With over 400 talented associates worldwide, WD is licensed in all 50 states and Canada. We provide an environment where associates gain experience, train and mentor with the best, and build a successful career!
We currently have an opening for an Industrial Engineer on our Operations Strategy & Design team. We are hiring for remote work in any location within the US. This position requires some travel, typically around 25% - varying durations that include multi-day overnight trips, but not necessarily traveling every week or every month.
As an Industrial Engineer on our Operations Strategy & Design team, you will be supporting the operations engineering efforts for our clients by applying industrial engineering principles and techniques, combined with technology. This position will require 25%+ travel in order to collect data on-site at client locations across the US. You'll be part of a team that investigates and addresses complex operations issues and translates ideas into potential savings. In this role, you'll help achieve this by compiling and analyzing data, executing time studies, making onsite observations, creating engineering designs, and then putting together presentations and client communications to support that solution development. It's likely that you're also a consumer or customer at WD clients, so this is an exciting opportunity to see operational improvements suggested from your work and professional knowledge impacting life outside of work!
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience
- Willingness to travel as needed (most likely 25%) and must be able to fly and/or rent a vehicle without restrictions
- Understanding of how to read and interpret general shop drawings for development and review
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand data, analyze, interpret and explain results as needed
- Understanding of processes, flows, efficiencies and capacities is necessary - experience with those in food service and/or retail operations environments is ideal
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access (or other databases), PowerPoint and Visio
- Ability to communicate and partner professionally with vendors and client representatives, plus willingness to participate in cooperative problem-solving through meaningful dialogue
