SENIOR BUYER: JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Context:
The Senior Media Buyer is responsible for managing and executing broadcast and radio buys across assigned clients. This includes negotiation, purchasing, monitoring, and post-campaign analysis to ensure delivery against approved strategies and objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead stewardship and day-to-day maintenance of buys
- Execute and manage sponsorships
- Communicate buy changes (cancellations, shifts, brand updates) to vendor reps
- Prepare, verify, and issue buying analyses
- Generate and analyze campaign reports, including pre- and post-buy documents
- Collaborate with Client Service teams on client deliverables
- Resolve billing discrepancies and oversee invoicing accuracy
- Support the Manager across all phases of account/client management
- Build a deeper understanding of client needs and strategies
- Play a key role in budget management and client billing accuracy
- Compile and interpret media/marketing data to inform implementation decisions
- Write POV’s and recommendations
- Write, attend and present internal and client presentations
- Engage and participate in meetings
- Help drive agency revenue through inventory
Required Skills/ Experience:
- 2–3 years of progressive experience in an Assistant Media Buyer or Media Buyer role
- Degree/diploma in Media, Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong experience in TV buying (national & regional)
- Solid understanding of media fundamentals and buying concepts
- Proficiency in DDS, Infosys, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular)
Good to have:
- Radio buying experience
- Familiarity with AI tools to enhance workflow
