Communications Operator - Information Services - Per-diem 8-hr, Variable Shifts
Salary Range: $27.40-$33.25
Summary of Duties: The Communications Operator is an employee who is assigned with the responsibility of carrying out the duties and functions of the Communications Department, that includes, operating telephone switchboard and consoles to connect, hold, transfer and disconnect telephone calls. Determine the nature of inquiries and provide general information. Provide external and internal connections for staff and patients, and answer internal queries directed to the switchboard. Deals with problem situations in a professional manner.
Educational Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements: Minimum of six (6) months recent experience working in a hospital environment as a PBX Operator or Operator in a high volume call center.
Special Skills or Abilities: General clerical experience required, with previous experience in a hospital/medical setting a must. Must have excellent telephone mannerism and etiquettes. Computer and keyboard skills mandatory.
