Salary Range: $36.02 - $41.40 

Summary of Duties: Under the direction and supervision of an RN assumes responsibility & accountability for assignments for a designated time frame, assisting other nursing staff & physicians in providing patient care according to established methods/policies/standards & scope of practice in Emergency Department. May also be assigned other duties as required, in addition to performing the essential functions of the job.

Educational Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent work experience, including the ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology, and in English.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Certified as an EMT-1A or EMT-P or graduated from an EMT course. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience Requirements: Current or previous experience (minimum of one year) as an EMT in the pre-hospital (911 EMS or BLS transport) or emergency department settings.

Special Skills or Abilities: Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology required. Emotional stamina to work in a hospital environment, and verbal communication skills required. Sufficient computer knowledge and technological skills to successfully interact with the electronic medical record and the various patient monitoring systems.
