Required Skills

  • Structure the VMLY&R media team to be best positioned for future growth and success
  • Assess tools and resources and make recommendations optimizing the performance of the VMLY&R media team
  • Serve as the client liaison for the agency’s largest accounts
  • Present the agency’s media services and capabilities in new business pitches to prospective clients
  • Develop and foster an environment in which the media team can best analyze media program results, identify areas for optimization and extract actionable insights
  • Develop processes and foster accountability with team members and vendors
  • Maintain contact with key media reps and internal account teams to ensure clear expectations
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, trends and technological advances in media to ensure the agency stays competitive and ahead of the competition
  • Directly supervise leaders on the VMLY&R media team and foster their growth and development
  • Lead VMLY&R media thought leadership through publishing and presentations, both internal and external
  • Support the VMLY&R core values in all efforts

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of media experience
  • A minimum of seven years of experience managing people, ideally leading a group or department
  • General knowledge of all paid media tactics, including broadcast, print and digital
  • Fluency with all digital media tactics, including programmatic, PPC, native and social
  • Experience using media research, planning and buying tools
  • Familiarity with leading media platforms, networks and tools
  • Fortitude to stay calm under pressure
