As the Executive Director Experience Design you are responsible for leading the strategic planning and design of the overall CX Design and Product design work.


  • Provides directorial oversight over multiple XD teams comprised of Director, Associate Directors, Senior Experience Designers and Experience Designers.
  • Manages resourcing and portfolio planning across their assigned region.
  • Drives client portfolio growth through experience strategy, continuously optimizing solutions to meet changing goals.
  • Establishes collaboration practices between XD, strategy, channel, creative, development and analytics.
  • Leads workshops and trains Director level XDs in workshop design, planning and moderation.
  • Responsible for process evolution and integration of process change.
  • Ensure user research is executed across client work and delivers actionable insights.
  • Point of contact for account and director level escalation.
  • A leader in industry trends, this role is responsible for mentoring and driving education of their team.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to organize different teams (internally and externally) around shared goals and keeping stakeholders engaged
  • Experience leading multiple account portfolios and the teams that support them
  • Experienced in working on and leading agile teams

Required Experience

  • A master’s degree with an emphasis in the liberal arts or human-centered design or equivalent in a related field
  • A minimum of ten years working in a user experience role with at least five of those years in a leadership and strategic role
  • Experience researching and developing strategic solutions for large client portfolios
  • Experience designing and working with clients from a variety of industries
  • A portfolio of excellence in design and strategic thinking
  • A proven track record for developing a talented team of experience designers
  • Digital agency experience and background required
