Where you shine

The Group Director, Client Engagement serves as General Manager of each team to manage a book of business for the agency. He or she is the most accountable strategic lead on the team, responsible for all aspects of business management, including overall business growth, casting, and team development. He or she also serves as engagement lead with senior-level clients on key accounts and manages expectations with his/her Managing Director. The Group Director, Client Engagement sets the vision for all partnerships and ensures seamless business delivery across all VMLY&R health disciplines.

What your success will look like

  • Leads, and collaborates with broader and office team leadership (including ELT) to set the vision, business and engagement plan for the book of business managed
  • Sets and achieves profitability goals on par with agency benchmarks
  • Manages and approves all investments to ensure a strategic focus on ROI’s
  • Develops and maintains the most senior level client relationships
  • Focus on building client relationship depth and organic business opportunities, activating VMLY&R Health network and WPP resources as needed to deliver on goals
  • For global clients, responsible for collaboration and inclusion of relevant regional markets in the annual account planning and activation process
  • Actively engage in professional development of direct reports
  • Cultivate capability of both the cross-functional client team and CE department
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to actively contribute throughout the creative process
  • Lead and grow multiple clients
  • Proven approach to cross-functional, cross-agency, and partnership collaboration
  • Manage and guide individuals and teams to their best results

Who you are and what you bring

  • 8 or 10+ years of relevant experience, including large-agency interactive, traditional marketing and/or equivalent client-side experience
  • Experience with marketing (traditional and/or digital) focusing on multi-channel campaign development and strategy
  • Previous experience leading a pharmaceutical or health account (HCP and/or DTC)
  • Possesses thorough knowledge/understanding of health communications landscape and ability to successfully navigate associated processes
  • Experience managing employees and business financials/profitability
  • Distinct understanding of strategic process and ability to drive innovation

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $75,000 to $180,000. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
