The Media Associate position will provide support for the day-to-day Media Planning and implementation functions for Hill’s Pet Nutrition. This person will assist the team in the development, execution, and stewardship of media plans for the client’s business as well as other initiatives based on client requirements and needs.

The Media Associate role on the Hill’s Pet Nutrition account will fall under WPP’s integrated agency called WPP Red Fuse. WPP Red Fuse is an integrated global team dedicated to serving Colgate-Palmolive worldwide. Hill’s Pet Nutrition is a subsidiary of Colgate-Palmolive.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure overall quality and integrity of media plans, including:
    • Prepare flowcharts and budgets for media plan using Excel, PowerPoint, along with online shared documents such as Google Docs
    • Monitor and maintain budgets, budget rollup, and all other stewardship reports
    • Manage client billing and resolve discrepancies
    • Analyze plan performance where necessary to ensure success
    • When/where applicable: negotiate make goods, coordinate added value
  • Gather necessary data for plan development:
    • Run marketing & media reports and analyze data, gather costs, create and maintain flowcharts
    • Monitor and compile competitive advertising and spending data. Lead competitive contact for all teams
    • Assist in the preparation and rationale of media recommendations and annual plan presentations.
    • Prepare and issue creative specs and guidelines to account team
  • Supports/facilitates the mandatory adherence to Agency’s requirements, processes, and procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate delivery of all work
  • Assist in the development of insightful media points-of-view
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and exercise time management skills 
Required skills / experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and/or communications
  • Entry- level role; related internship experience preferred
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work within a team, handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with clear and proven organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ambition by keeping abreast of industry trends through trade news, industry workshops / seminars and tracking current events
  • Demonstrate genuine curiosity and interest in our clients & their business
  • Digitally savvy, with specific proficiency at MS Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint along
