VitalSource®, is hiring a Business Development Manager to contribute to our Sales team located in Mexico or Brazil (remotely).

 

We are looking for a driven, independent, and proactive Business Development Manager to cover strategically important Mexico and Brazil markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the sales process efficiently (i.e. closing current top deals fast and creating a solid pipeline of new deals);
  • Developing strategies to independently manage all business for the assigned market/territory. 
  • Identifying high potential prospects and prospecting using various direct methods (e.g. calling & face to face meetings) and indirect methods (e.g. networking, email outreach, lead conversion).
  • Closing business to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets;
  • Forecasting accurately, especially close dates; expected net amounts and overall pipeline value;
  • Supporting the implementation processes by defining and effectively communicating customer needs to the product development team and all other relevant teams.
  • Actively managing sales calls and meetings to expand business with current customers; 
  • Managing all commercial and contract negotiation processes;
  • Liaising with relevant internal teams to adapt, develop and evolve VitalSource Explore product offering

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant sales experience
  • Native Spanish, fluent in Portuguese and English
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 50%

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding assigned targets.
  • Ability to effectively explain complex technology and processes to various audiences.
  • Demonstrated skills in consultative selling approach (i.e. ability to listen, think strategically, and communicate effectively with the intent of creating and closing a “win-win” deal).
  • Passion for Education, Technology, and Business Development.
  • Creative and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create effective sales strategy with monthly, quarterly, and yearly business plans.
  • Basic Knowledge of current business climate, current market trends, and technologies with specific reference to the EdTech space.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer and distributor relationships.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time.
  • Knowledge of essential business technologies, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office/Zoom and Salesforce (or any CRM)
