VitalSource®, is hiring multiple Supply Chain Interns to contribute to our Finance team located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

 

We are looking to add multiple interns to our finance team for the summer! During this internship, you will be working closely with the Supply Chain and Operations teams, you will utilize your analytical skills and knowledge of supply chain management principles to contribute to our demand planning processes. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic business environment and to make a tangible impact on our efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Forecasting: Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to forecast demand for a wide range of products identified by ISBNs. Utilize forecasting tools, historical demand signals and strategies to enhance prediction accuracy.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the purchasing, marketing, and sales departments to understand promotional activities, seasonal trends, and other demand influencers to adjust forecasts accordingly.
  • Inventory Management Support: Assist in managing inventory levels based on forecasted demand, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet customer needs without overstocking.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present reports on forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to the supply chain and management teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of forecasting methodologies and processes by incorporating feedback and learnings from forecast outcomes.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Upperclassman, or enrolled in a Master's program with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively across teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, demand forecasting techniques, and inventory management.
  • Prior internship or academic project experience in supply chain or operations is preferred but not required.

 

Salary Range: $20 per hour or commensurate with experience
