WHAT IS THIS ROLE ABOUT? As the Finance Team Lead, you will partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to optimize financial performance, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to long-term strategic organizational success by leading a team of junior analysts.

 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the team’s workload, provide coaching and guidance on best practices through training materials and workshops that enhance their technical and analytical abilities.
  • Act as key point of contact for escalations, cross-functional reporting needs, and complex financial issues, ensuring consistency and clarity in resolutions.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to align priorities, share best practices, and communicate organizational goals.
  • Lead regular team meetings and/or coordinate cross-functional initiatives to promote collaboration, align priorities, share knowledge and communicate organizational goals.
  • Lead financial analysis efforts by interpreting current and historical financial data, identifying trends, and delivering actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Oversee the development and enhancement of financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and business cases.
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate initiatives, model financial outcomes, and assess return on investment (ROI) for key projects.
  • Lead the annual planning and long-range strategic planning process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepare and present financial performance reports and executive dashboards, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), proactively recommending adjustments to improve results.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure financial systems are optimized for reporting and analysis needs.

 

YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a financial analysis role
  • Expertise in designing, developing, and delivering executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and dynamic financial models that incorporate predictive analytics, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Experience synthesizing data from multiple functions into actionable insights for senior leadership, supporting organizational strategy and cross-functional alignment through comprehensive understanding of financial statements and their interdependencies.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing frameworks to track and analyze key performance metrics, perform detailed variance analysis and forecasting, and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support long-term strategic planning and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), managing complex accruals, ensuring audit readiness, and aligning financial reporting standards with global compliance requirements for seamless close processes and external audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, capitalize on opportunities, and ensure robust internal controls and adherence to external regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive experience partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with organizational objectives and operational priorities.
  • Mastery of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials, Workday, NetSuite, Microsoft Great Plains), advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and Microsoft Excel (including VBA programming, macros, complex formulas, and financial modeling).
  • Proficient with automation platforms (e.g., Alteryx, UiPath) that streamline data processing and reporting workflows.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for financial systems to ensure data integrity and protection.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior analysts.

 

 

IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):

 

  • CFA or other certification is a plus.

 

LOCATION: Boston-Hybrid

Position requires current residence within the United States of America and willingness to work a Tuesday and Thursday (2-day minimum) Hybrid schedule in our Boston, MA office location. Relocation assistance is not available.

 

SALARY: $100k-$120k annual

This position is salaried and is eligible for an annual incentive based on employee and organizational performance.
