WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT?  As a Literacy Engagement Specialist for the K-12 Central Region, you will be viewed as a literacy subject matter expert. You will work strategically with the aligned sales team members to develop, implement and execute training programs and sales plans. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
  • Partner with regional field sales team members and sales manager on the creation and execution of strategic business development plans that will secure key account business for VHL’s Literacy products
  • Partner closely with the Literacy Program Director on implementation of go-to-market strategies
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure leveraging of product capabilities and sales opportunities
  • Research, collect information on and identify key questions for sales team members to utilize in presentations for Top 10 Tier 1 K-12 district target accounts  
  • Conduct regular follow-up planning and progress meetings with sales team members on shared goals
  • Develop a deep understanding of VHL’s product portfolio and ensure key features are included in presentations and collateral
  • Stay abreast of market trends, analyze the regional competitive landscape and develop resources showing how VHL’s product(s) can fill market gaps
  • Act as primary resource providing training to sales reps and for customer implementations
  • Assist with site based outreach, district and state level RFP submission responses
  • Provide insight to Marketing and Product Development teams on customer perspectives
 
YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • 5+ years of experience as an Educator/Teacher, Program Facilitator, District Coordinator, Trainer or similar that has been focused on Literacy
  • Knowledge of K-12 literacy market dynamics, competitive landscape, trends, customer needs and challenges
  • Experience with state and/or district adoption, RFP and public solicitation processes 
  • A high technology proficiency with MS Office Suite, LMS tools and webinar systems
  • Experience building and presenting effective and engaging webinars and trainings
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight (by air or car) as needed 50-60% of the time without restriction and depending on time of year
  • Experience developing and maintaining long-term relationships and a highly collaborative mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills, along with an ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
 
IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)
  • Strong EL/K5 reading intervention background
  • Knowledge of K-12 bilingual and pedagogy of ELL and DL programs
  • Familiarity with VHL Literacy products or similar
  • Experience providing sales support or handling sales related activities
  • Experience using CRMs (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
 
LOCATION
Remote: This role is remote and requires residence in the Central US region. Ideal candidate will reside in Texas (TX) and within close proximity to a major airport in order to meet travel requirement. Relocation is not available for this position.
