WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT? As a Senior UX Designer, you will be a key player in our UX Design team by collaborating closely with users to create and execute highly intuitive and innovative user-centric designs that help educators teach and students learn.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

 

Strategy and Execution

  • Work with senior leaders to deliver product strategy aligned with business and user goals, identify market trends to improve user experience and product design.
  • Assess existing systems and suggest improvements that align with the broader product strategy.

Design Development

  • Manage the full design process—from ideation and workflow diagrams to wireframes and interactive prototypes – and uphold high-quality design standards.
  • Oversee design projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Apply advanced design principles to create cohesive, visually appealing experiences across the platform.

 

User-Centric Design

  • Champion user-centric design, collaborate with teams, and turn feedback into actionable improvements.
  • Conduct user interviews, research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to refine design solutions.
  • Oversee accessibility, compliance, and product remediation in alignment with business goals.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion in both organizational interactions and design outcomes.

Technical Acumen

  • Work with Product Management to analyze user data and provide insights for improved design.
  • Gain expertise in the product platform and help build effective UX frameworks and scalable architectures.

 

Team Leadership

  • Mentor junior designers to encourage collaboration and excellence.
  • Lead initiatives to improve customer UX, team processes, and cross-team communication.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to turn requirements into actionable designs.

 

 

YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, or a similar relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer
  • Proven record of accomplishment of successfully contributing to impactful user interfaces.
  • Experience working in teams of product, visual, or content designers with demonstrated leadership traits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to articulate design concepts and ideas clearly and persuasively adjusting appropriately to the audience.
  • Portfolio displaying advanced skills in user experience, service, interaction, and product design.
  • Experience delivering strategic design initiatives with a focus on scalable systems and patterns.
  • Understanding of market trends, user needs, and the competitive landscape in digital products.
  • Experience working in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Figma (Miro, Lucid).
  • Willingness and ability to travel 4-5 times per year to Boston, MA for team meetings and other locations in US for sales meetings or industry events.

 

 

IDEAL IF YOU HAVE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE):

  • Advanced degree
  • Experience in SCRUM/Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical product domains
  • Experience in Edtech, language learning, digital learning, or similar industry highly preferred

 

 

LOCATION: Hybrid - Boston (ideal) or Remote in Eastern Time Zone

Candidates must live in the United States, ideally near our Boston, MA office, and be available for a hybrid schedule (in-office at least Tuesdays and Thursdays). Candidates in the Eastern Time Zone may also be considered. Relocation is not offered.

 

SALARY: $120k-$140k annual salary range

This position is salaried and is eligible for an annual incentive based on employee and organizational performance.
