Director of World Language Curriculum & Professional Learning
Description
- Develop and implement comprehensive product training programs for K-12 educators, ensuring proficiency in utilizing our World Language solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations, workshops, and presentations to school districts and educational institutions, highlighting the benefits of our offerings.
- Design and deliver professional development sessions for educators, focusing on best practices in World Language instruction.
- Provide ongoing support and resources to customers, addressing inquiries, concerns, and ensuring a positive user experience.
- Collaborate with the Editorial, Marketing, and Sales teams to create compelling and informative presentations that effectively showcase the value of our educational solutions for World Languages to potential clients.
- Train internal sales specialists and per diem consultants on effective sales strategies, program knowledge, and consultative selling techniques.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather feedback, address concerns, and contribute to product enhancements based on customer input.
- Assist in the completion of RFPs, BIDS and Proposal submissions as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, pedagogical advancements, and educational technology to continuously enhance professional development offerings.
- Serve as an advocate for World Languages in K-12 education, play an active role in engaging with educational communities, attend industry events and conferences.
- Recruit, develop, and manage a team of national World Language Engagement Specialists as well as specialized per diem consultants and trainers.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- 10+ years of experience in K12 literacy and/or language sales, marketing and professional development/training
- Advanced level knowledge of the K-12 World language customer and market needs and experience in creating professional development training instruction and content.
- Knowledge of K-12 schools and purchasing practices as well as latest trends in Language, strategies and planning methodologies.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, negotiation, editorial and presentation skills; Can communicate complex business and technical issues effectively with the ability to adjust tone and style to fit specific audience(s)
- Demonstrated experience effectively building, motivating, coaching, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (i.e. product development, sales, etc.) in agile environments to define, develop, and launch successful products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Experience using sales technologies (CRM) to make data-informed decisions, create GTM plans based on variety of customer profiles and audience needs
- Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional environment with agility, and a willingness to contribute new ideas while executing on decisions and taking accountability for changing priorities; Results-driven and self-motivated with a track record of achieving revenue goals
- Ability to travel up to 50% as needed and without restriction.
- Excellent leadership and team building skills; Easily inspires others within an organization, identify ways to improve systems, processes and workflows for efficiency and results; Balances tactical lens with strategic focus and leads team with a growth mindset
- Strong people management skills; can effectively set and direct priorities for department and cultivate talent while providing effective coaching and performance feedback
- Advanced degree (MA preferred)
- Working knowledge Salesforce.com
- Familiarity and/or experience with VHL products
