As a test engineer you will design, integrate, test, deliver, and maintain the analytic tools, capabilities, and software necessary to find, extract, unpack, and analyze files (embedded or otherwise, various file types). Your efforts will result in an enterprise capability for the DoD to improve cyberspace operations and defend U.S. vital national security interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with software, security and integration teams to define and implement test plans and procedures
  • Conduct testing and evaluate and document the results of testing and evaluation.
  • Testing will include hardware and software component testing, subsystem and system level development testing, system compatibility testing, acceptance testing, functional testing, integration testing, qualification testing, and beta testing.
  • Work with the customer to perform all activities to provide technical support, such as design, integration, certification and accreditation, functional testing, end user testing

Requirements:

  • Eight (8) years demonstrated experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests and results to verify system operability and compliance with project standards and requirements; developing or testing software written in C/C++, Java, Perl, Python and other scripting languages on Windows and Linux/UNIX platforms, and participating in peer review of development and test deliverables.
  • Eight (8) years of experience with identifying, documenting and tracking software defects through resolution, using industry standard lifecycle tools such as Atlassian Suite (Jira), Rational Suite, Bugzilla or similar tools
  • Four (4) years of experience years testing software following Agile lifecycle processes and practices, using Agile tools such as Atlassian Suite and GitHub
  • Two (2) years of experience testing using CI/CD processes and tools
  • Two (2) years of experience developing software or scripts in Python, Bash or similar languages, and developing test automation frameworks.
  • Two (2) years of experience with estimating resources, level of effort, and timelines for testing tasks using Agile story point construct or similar methods, providing input on dependencies and risks for testing
  • Experience with one or more of the following tools: Selenium, PyTest, Puppeteer, Sphinx.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience developing or testing software being developed/deployed on AWS cloud
  • AWS certification at Associate level or higher
  • Experience developing automated software documentation using Markdown and reStructuredText
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or experience working with OSI Model, TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, and other basic network concepts.
